New Sports Centre for St. Anton am Arlberg

A new multi-functional sports centre has opened in St Anton am Arlberg.

Following a year of planning and design, the first digger moved onto the site of the existing indoor tennis courts in June of this year and the new sport and climbing centre, arl.rock, opened less than six months later.

Thanks to a special floor- indoor football or volleyball can be played on the two tennis courts and squash players also have their own court. In addition, four bowling lanes offer hours of fun.
The extravagant, sharp-edged architecture is eye catching and showcases the main attractions of the sports centre: climbing, bouldering and ice climbing – arl.rock offers up to 100 different indoor and outdoor climbing routes with various degrees of difficulty.

Ice climbing and bouldering are even possible all year round. When the ice has melted in the summer, a comparable artificial layer is revealed on the ice tower enabling climbing techniques to be practised twelve months long. In addition, a modern climbing route leads up the 17 metre high tower of the new activity centre from which there are two possibilities to get back down to firm ground – either with ropes or on the Flying Fox. Arl.rock also has a restaurant and Sports Bar.
