Up to 180 athletes are currently training at panorama ski area in British Columbia. International teams include racers from the United States, Germany, Slovenia, Great Britain, Japan and of course Canada.
The conditions and terrain at Panorama Mountain Village are seen as perfect for pre-season race training by international team coaches as the weather from mid-October is ideal for high-volume snowmaking and machine-made snow is actually preferred for race training, as it produces conditions that match those the athletes will ski during the World Cup.
Panorama has several homologated runs, which meet F.I.S. (International Federation of Skiing) standards for Slalom, Giant Slalom, and Super Giant Slalom disciplines and the resort’s Mile One Quad provides a quick turn around for athletes.
Panorama Mountain Village also provides coaches and athletes with a hassle-free training program that enables them, with one phone call, to arrange lodging, lifts, meals, wax rooms, transportation, hill assignments, and grooming needs. All teams stay in slopeside lodging, only steps from the Mile One Quad with tuning and waxing facilities are in the same building as their accommodation and a meal plan fit for athletes is available in the Great Hall.
With colder weather in the forecast, Panorama snowmaking continues; thereby opening new terrain to welcome more teams every day. At its peak, the mountain will host 300 athletes a day.

The Swiss spa ski resort of Leukerbad, famous for its healing waters since roman times and the resort that brought us the cinema swimming pool, is adding the “Legendary Valais Sauna Night” from January.
The resort’s sauna village in the Lindner Alpentherme will host the new event with Andreas Weissen, a narrator of fables and legends who hails from the Upper Valais, who will recount tales from the mystic world of legend in the Valais.
Mt Weissen will be accompanied by Alpine horn blowers, culinary specialities from the Valais will be provided, and of course there’ll be a wide choice of different sauna experiences on offer.
The ‘Legendary Valais Sauna Night’ will take place every fourth Saturday evening from 8.30pm to 11.30pm.
